Director of Development, UT Martin

My position includes

Building and growing relationships with alumni, donors, and friends of the university at UT Martin in order to solicit funds to financially support students and the institution.

To understand what I do, you must understand

The donor’s motivations and the difference they want to make through our institution.  Development officers must have a firm grasp on our institutions vision and mission – not just the Advancement/Development program, but for our whole institution.

My favorite part of my job is

Meeting and interacting with alumni of UT Martin.

As a kid I wanted to be

A professional athlete.

If I was gifted with a secret power, it would be

The ability to read the minds of other people.

My bucket list includes

Visiting Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.

My personal motto is

Few know that I

Once appeared on a television special supporting education with former Tennessee Governor, Lamar Alexander.

The best piece of advice I ever received was

Stay true to yourself. Never allow yourself to be defined by someone else’s opinion.
