As the end of 2025 approaches, we continue to work closely with the Kindsight team to build on the strong momentum of the past six months. We are excited to share that four major data integrity optimizations will move into production this week—strengthening accuracy, reliability and confidence in our reporting processes.
At the same time, the Business Intelligence, Constituent Management and User Experience teams are working to finalize the new e-receipt process. Testing is underway, with the goal of launching the enhanced e-receipt experience early in the new year, delivering cleaner data, improved reconciliation and a smoother experience for our customers and internal teams.
Data Integrity:
Fix ANDI non-philanthropic transactions to designations that are not marked “non-charitable:” In the conversion to ACE, our policy and process for identifying non-charitable transactions changed. This was previously identified with a transaction type, but in ACE these payments are determined by the designation record. 16,570 transactions were updated to reflect the correct non-charitable designation.
Process to exclude individual transactions from campaign counting: On rare occasions, UTFI processes transactions that should not be included in campaign fundraising totals, typically because they have already been counted in a previous fiscal year. A new business process and campaign code was implemented to account for these transactions and prevent the need for hard coding reports and dashboards moving forward. 2,690 converted pledge/gift opportunities and payment records were updated with the new campaign code.
Opportunity and Payment credit dates don’t match: In ANDI, the legacy system, transaction data was entered with two dates for “date received” and “credit date”. After conversion, it was discovered that some gift/pledge opportunity records were converted with the incorrect credit date. While this did not impact our reporting or counting logic, 30,000 converted opportunities were updated to the correct credit date to avoid confusion and data integrity concerns moving forward.
Payments tied to Planned Pledges and Planned Reevaluation Opportunities missing subtype (BQ, GA, CR, CL, IN): In the ACE implementation, changes were made to data entry for planned gift pledge payments, and previous transaction types for these payments were not converted (values including Charitable Remainder Trust, Realized Bequest, Gift Annuity, etc.). A new field was created on the payment object and 7,340 converted pledge payments were updated. This new field will be incorporated in gift processing moving forward.
