Evan Beech has been named vice chancellor of advancement for the University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. and the University of Tennessee Southern. Beech has served as the interim vice chancellor since January 2022, and previously served in an advisory role as the campus joined the UT System on July 1, 2021.

As the vice chancellor for university advancement, Beech will be responsible for managing UT Southern’s fundraising and alumni programs. In their first year as a UT campus, the UTS advancement team raised $4.9 million from over 1,000 donors.

“Evan has been successful in his roles at UT Southern and the UT Institute of Agriculture, displaying the dedication, leadership and passion that are essential as we continue advancing the mission of UTS. I am thrilled to welcome Evan in this permanent role,” said UT Foundation President Kerry Witcher.    

Originally from Pulaski, TN, Beech attended UT Knoxville where he received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He began working for the UT Institute of Agriculture in 2016 and most recently served as the director of advancement. Evan is a class of 2022 UT Executive Leadership Institute participant and was a 2020 UTFI Board of Directors Award recipient. 

UT Southern joined the UT family on July 1, 2021 after the acquisition of Martin Methodist College (MMC) by the University of Tennessee System. The addition of UT Southern represented the fourth undergraduate college within the UT System, and the first new campus since UT Chattanooga joined more than 50 years ago. Additionally, UT Southern is the only four-year and graduate institution of higher education between Sewanee in the east and Freed-Hardeman in the west, serving a southern middle Tennessee region of 13 counties near the Alabama border.
