The UT Foundation Honor Roll recognizes significant achievements of staff based on self-development, teamwork and leadership.
Congratulations to our 2021 recipients.
Effective Leader: Michael Carter
Recognizing leadership by example
In the years since he stepped into the leadership role in Advancement Services, Michael has transformed the operation; simultaneously creating a supportive, family-like work culture while making hard decisions regarding our financial and staff resources. He participated in UT’s Executive Leadership Institute, which challenged him in productive ways, and also promoted teamwork and accountability by successfully implementing the 4 Disciplines of Execution. In addition, his relentless, behind-the-scenes efforts in the CRM project have set the stage for a successful implementation and saved UT hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Synergy Award: Shannon Hollingsworth
Recognizing teamwork and successful implementation of a program or project leading to efficiency
Shannon has done an extraordinary job under many challenging circumstances in the past year and a half. She has led creation and implementation of the transfer process between UTFI and the Office of Sponsored Programs; led creation and direction of a system-wide Corporate and Foundation Engagement (CFE) dashboard; and created an in-house CFE tracking process for all issues, requests and questions which require resolution. In short, the CFE office simply could not function at its current capacity without Shannon’s leadership and creative solutions. Her teamwork and ability to work with a cross section of offices to create processes that work for multiple units has been invaluable to her team and the Foundation.
Impact Award: Kelley Trevathan
Recognizing outstanding performance that has impacted beyond the individual’s campus or unit
Kelley epitomizes that employee that goes above their role to make an even greater impact on the organization. She is a gifted staff member that is intuitive about the details needed to engage alumni effectively. Alumni know her and she takes great effort to provide the best customer service. She consistently goes above and beyond her duties, and historical knowledge and expertise keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. The frequency of ideas, such as the Baby Skyhawk Program, and input that she provides has enhanced alumni relations programming as well as UT Martin’s annual giving appeals and programs.
