1.5.1 UT Gifts

Objective

Provide business standards to process gifts from donors who have requested their donation be deposited through the University of Tennessee (UT) rather than the University of Tennessee Foundation (UTFI).

The majority of gifts received by UT or UTFI are deposited through the UTFI General Account. Occasionally, a donor will specifically request for their donations to be deposited through UT.

UT Gifts

A donor may specify they do not wish for any of their gifts to be associated with UTFI. These gifts will not be deposited through UTFI. These transactions will be identified for reporting purposes by a special “Transmit” code assigned at the time of entry in the ANDI Gift Ledger.

When depositing UT money, it is necessary to use a UT deposit ticket or choose the UT bank account when scanning checks via Remote Deposit Capture.
